Product Description

Meditation is the first of 16 sections of Edward Elgar’s oratorio composed in 1896, The Light of Life, alternatively titled Lux Christi. As the overture, it comprises the principle themes contained in the oratorio, composed for orchestra, chorus, and four soloists. A very beautiful and reflective piece, Meditation would work well for ceremonial use, as an Ingoing Church Voluntary, or as a contemplative concert piece. The original scoring included harp and organ parts, which are also included in this arrangement optionally, and generally covered elsewhere.
